Read ALL of Chapter 35. It's only 16 pages with some pictures and maps in between, so I'd rather not hear any complaining about the reading.
You WILL have a quiz...and I can guarantee that a question or two will come from the story at the beginning of the chapter. Have you noticed a trend here?.....I ALWAYS ask questions from those cool little stories that y'all never read. So read it....mmkay? Though we talked about them for a little bit, please bring back in those pictures of yourself as a child so we can make sense of the CCOT

Finish reading Chapter 34 and bring in a picture of yourself as a baby (either a hard copy, or something on your phone/tablet). I know it sounds crazy, but trust me on th
I need you to read the first half of Chapter 34 for next class. Start reading at "Birth of a Monster" and stop on page 802 "Challenges to the Liberal Order"
Make sure that you also read "Birth of a Monster" at the beginning of the chapter. It's very.....interesting. YOU WILL HAVE A QUIZ. YOU CAN'T SAY THAT I DIDN' Read the first half of Chapter 33 to page 774 (you can stop at "Conflict in East Asia and the Pacific")
None. We will be talking about the CCOT essay among several other things, so you can have a break from reading for one class period.
UNIT IV TEST!!!!
Your test will be 60 questions - 40 from the new material and 20 from the previous units. Please check out the review page for your review packet and some other materials that I will be posting Wednesday night! Let me know if you have any questions! A and B Day need to both finish their "Alternate History" Assignments. B-Day, you have no idea what I'm talking about? Click below to see what you missed and see what you need to turn in. Read the first half of Chapter 32 - up until page 746 (The Emergence of New Imperial Powers)
Make sure you read the story at the beginning of the chapter. Bring in the outline notes for the chapter as well as we will be doing a lecture/discussion similar to the one we did last class with Chapter 30. Oh you're still reading? Good. There will be a quiz on the first half of 32...and remember, I like the stories at the front of the chapter. KING LEOPOLD'S GHOST ESSAY DUE! Your essays will be due at the beginning of class. If you do not have it today in class, points will be deducted.
ALSO! Read the following selections from Chapter 30: pg. 683 (Canadian Dominion) to pg. 688 (end at American Economic Development) pg. 693 (Canadian Prosperity) to pg. 700 (read through "in perspective") You are essentially focusing on the Latin American/Canadian information and skimming over the content on America (I will cover that in class). Slight change of plans from our last homework update...since I haven't seen some of you in over a week!
For Tuesday and Wednesday's homework assignment, I need each of you to have read the ALL of Chapter 31 (it's 20 pages with pictures, you'll be alright). If you can, print out the outline notes and bring them to class....(they tend to help you make sense of our discussions). Prepare yourself for your DBQ! We will be writing our timed DBQ in class today, so you need to be familiar with the documents that I put on the website (the same ones that we talked about in class).
Prompt: Using the documents, analyze how Enlightenment ideas influenced or impacted the French and Haitian Revolutions. Identify one additional type of document and explain briefly how it would help your analysis. Also, skim through the first half of Chapter 31 and bring in the printed outline notes. We will be going over the first half of the chapter after we finish the DBQ. |
