Mr. Marwitz is a graduate of Western Carolina University and an unashamed supporter of their marching band (the football team is atrocious). He graduated _____ years ago with a degree in History and another degree in Social Science Education, earning his licensure for grades 6-12. He and his wonderful wife Lakyn were married in 2012 and have a beautiful baby girl named Ella Pearl (and two adorable puppies named Bean and Vera Mae). Mr. Marwitz also owns his own professional photography business, so he is always busy whether in school or out! In his spare time Mr. Marwitz enjoys playing ping pong, planning his annual trip to Disney World, speaking in hash-tags during real conversations, and building with Legos - because you're never too old to have fun!! Mr. Marwitz has participated in many professional development seminars and institutes over the last several years in an attempt to become the best teacher that he possibly can be. These include, but are not limited to, the week long "summer camp" he attended to become certified in AP World History and a Harvard Research Study testing working through cutting-edge observation strategies. Mr. Marwitz also routinely works within CMS at the district level to write assessments, design curriculum, and present professional development. In 2016 he attended the National Social Studies Conference in New Orleans, LA as a district representative for CMS Social Studies and just this summer he represented CMS at the DBQ Project Summit in Chicago, IL. Mr. Marwitz is an approachable teacher who always has time for his students (yes, even when they email at odd hours and on the weekend). If students can put up with his unending stream of terrible, historical puns and dad jokes, Mr. Marwitz feels that he can make up for it by putting up with a few after-hours contacts. If you have any other questions and are afraid to ask Mr. Marwitz to his face (why...is he that intimidating?), please use the Contact Me link at the top of the page.
